James Gillespie is a partner in the Paris office of Piton Gillespie Berne.
James’s practice focuses on corporate and commercial law, with a specialization in cross-border transactions, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, and joint ventures. James also assists clients in the fields of business creation and financing, fund structuring and investment, and business restructuring and bankruptcy.
Prior to founding Piton Gillespie Berne, James practiced for more than ten years in the Paris offices of Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson and of White & Case.
James holds a Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School, a Masters of Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, and a Bachelor of Arts from Princeton University. He is a native of Wilmington, North Carolina, and is fluent in English and French.
